Mississippi is named for the Mississippi River which forms the western boundary of the state and flows into the Gulf of Mexico. In August of 2005, the states bordering the Gulf were devastated by Hurricane Katrina, arguably the worst hurricane to ever hit the region. Today, Mississippi is bouncing back from the impacts of the hurricane; tourism is flourishing and the economy is growing. As a result, the demand of Mississippi truck drivers is higher than it has been in decades and drivers are enjoying good pay.
